Photography: Tiffany Twist Knot Earrings

Added on by Trevor Fulmer.

The sight of Tiffany & Co.'s turquoise box is everything. The box alone elicits excitement and anticipation for the elegance inside. Knowing this, I decided to photograph the Twist Knot Earrings and style the set with elegant Tiffany-inspired colors and materials.

This set features white carrara marble, a turquoise box, rope drawstring velvet bag and white satin ribbon. The marble surface is inspired by Tiffany & Co's retail space. The box, at this macro level, provides a unique pebbled texture. The velvet bag, which typically houses the jewelry, adds softness and creates contrast against the cold sterling silver. The white satin ribbon creates a feminine tone, emphasizes depth and breaks up the turquoise color field. The slightly overhead angle and shallow depth of field help the eye focus on the intricate twisted silver knot.

Photography: Raw Vegetable Study

Being vegetarian and a lover of vegetables, I decided to put my "camera where my mouth is". This exploratory focuses on the natural shapes, colors, patterns and textures of raw vegetables. I think the photographs help express the uniqueness of these earth-grown beauties.

When shooting these images, I relied on mother nature to provide natural light, that I softened with a diffuser. In order to make the subjects feel heroic, I styled the set using only a simple brown paper bag.

What's your favorite image and/or vegetable?

Graphic Design: Pinstripes & Diamonds

I had the pleasure of designing two baseball themed creative concepts for the non-profit Hayden's Heart. The first option focused on the simple shapes and patterns of a baseball jersey. An intertwined "P" & "D" became the primary emblem, while blue and yellow colors created a classic all-American palette. The second option, which the client chose, referenced the look of a vintage baseball ticket. A tattered paper texture, along with distressed typography and diamond icon took you back to the Joe Dimaggio era.

Which option do you like?

Baked Ricotta with Rosemary & Lemon -

If you're hosting a dinner or cocktail party and want to impress your guests with your baking skills, I recommend this quick and delicious winter-inspired hot appetizer. AND yes, I am still adding rosemary to everything!

Combine ricotta, rosemary, lemon zest, olive oil, red pepper and salt in a large bowl.

Cape Cod Travel Posters -

On New England winter days I fondly recall Cape Cod summers - salty sea air, grass-covered sand dunes, umbrella-shaded beaches, mischievous seagulls, seasonal ice cream shops, sunset beach bonfires. I could go on and on...

Today, I am featuring a series of Cape Cod Travel Posters. These designs may look familiar to some, since they were part of our wedding room drop. The front designs (left column) feature flat simplistic icons which are a modern interpretation of vintage travel posters. The back layouts (right column) highlight specific restaurants, bars, beaches, tourist attractions and shopping destinations that my husband and I encouraged our guests to visit.

Enjoy and have faith, summer is coming...

Photography: Cranberry Scone

Cranberry Scone Photo Shoot -

On a cold weekend morning, nothing tastes better than a cup of hot coffee and a freshly baked pastry or bread. This particular morning, I had a delicious crumbly cranberry scone.

When I photographed this scone, I wanted the set to feel fresh, inviting and authentic. In order to accomplish this, I used a large white diffuser which softened the natural outdoor light. After perfecting the highlights and shadows, I styled the set with a dark cutting board, white marble slab, red and white striped napkin (for softness), loose sugar, fresh and dried cranberries (to add texture, depth and color) and bowls and scoops to help tell the baking story. The scone's tip was torn to give the photo a casual feel and to highlight the soft airy interior.

Home Decor: Holiday Looks

Living in the city with limited storage has it challenges, like where to store holiday decor after the season. This year I've decided to use all natural elements that can be composted or recycled - birch logs, fresh greenery, pine cones, branches and fresh fruit.

Brich_logo.jpg

Birch Logs & Greenery: I arranged three 36" birch logs in a 18" x 5" glass cylinder and surrounded them with live greenery. This arrangement looks great in a foyer, living room or anywhere you have high ceilings!

Bar Greenery: I surrounded a chrome ice bucket with greenery and created small clusters of pine cones, oranges and cranberries around the bar top. To add visual interest throughout the entire cabinet, I filled some wine bottle openings with greenery and oranges. This is a great look if you're hosting a cocktail party!

Cranberries_logo.jpg

Branches & Berries: I wrapped berry clusters around decorative branches and filled up a white rectangular vase with sand (for weight) and covered it with reindeer moss. To add a pop of color, I filled 3 vases with 1/2 cranberries and 1/2 water - the berries will float to the top. It's a home-sized cranberry bog!

For this shoot, I decided to merge two of my favorites - cappuccinos and Christmas. Rustic holiday decor and fresh cinnamon sticks help establish the look and feel for this Christmas-inspired set. Warm tones of brown balance the cool marble texture, while a red and white napkin add softness.

Holiday Widow Boxes & Door Wreaths

To kick off the holidays I enjoy decorating our brownstone's facade. First, I overflow our window boxes with fresh greenery, holly berries, pine cones and bundles of birch logs. Second, I create wreathes using boxwood greens, pine cones, gold ornaments and a maroon bow. I like to think I have a decorating competition with my unknowing neighbors. Muahahahaha!
